Abhishekam is an act of complete devotion and surrender to the divine. By pouring milk, water, honey, turmeric, and other ingredients over the deity for ceremonial bathing, we actually cleanse our mind and consciousness.
On the divine occasion of Mahashivratri, you have the amazing opportunity to perform the powerful Rudrabhishekam on the Sadhana App (Live) alongside Om Swami ji.

Date: Live telecast on Feb 15, 2026 at 6.00 p.m. (IST) from Sri Badrika Ashram.
How to Perform Rudrabhishekam
- Click the Trishul icon at 6.00 p.m on Feb. 15, 2026, on the Sadhana App to begin.
- Watch the live telecast when Swami ji performs Rudrabhishishekam on the Sri Hari Vigraha at the ashram.
- Follow along and perform Rudrabhishekam on the Shivlingam (in the app) by offering the highlighted ingredient with devotion. No verbal instructions will be given during abhishekam.
- Rudrabhishekam will be followed by the evening arti and discourse by Swami Ji.
Note: Recording of this event will be available till 18 Feb ‘26 in your respective timezone. If you miss the live telecast, you have the option to watch it later and perform Rudrabhishekam.
Points to Remember
- No initiation or special permission is required for performing Rudrabhishekam.
- Anyone above the age of 8 can perform it.
- If you are not doing Rudrabhishekam (Live), the next best option is after sunrise or before sunset. Alternatively, you may choose a time that suits you best.
- Follow cleanliness rules: bathe and wear clean clothes for the ceremony.
- White clothes are recommended for Rudrabhishekam, though any other color is acceptable.
- Sit in Sukhasana on a woollen or darbha grass mat.
- The ideal direction is facing East or North-East.
- There is no need to learn the Sri Rudram for the Rudrabhishekam.
- Women can perform this during their menstrual cycle.
- We do not recommend abandoning Abhishekam or any other ritual unless there is an urgency.
- A small monetary offering (Dakshina) is encouraged as per Vedic tradition.
