Lalita Sahasranaam Sadhana: When and How?

In this blog post, you will get all important information regarding the Lalita Sahasranaam Sadhana. 

In Srimad Bhagavad Gita Sri Krishna has emphasised three actions. Performing them constantly purifies us and helps us grow spiritually. They are: yagna, daan (charity) and tapa (penance). These three are the very foundation of Sanatan Dharm and one should try to incorporate them in life. 

In the upcoming Sharad Navratri, invite the grace of Mother Divine and perform the Lalita Sahasranaam Sadhana.

Sadhana Details

Date and Duration:

Date : 26 Sept. ’25 -15 Nov. ’25

This sadhana will be available for 51 days. You can do the sadhana for 11, 21, 31 or the full 51 days as per your convenience between 26 Sept. ’25 -15 Nov. ’25.

Preparation Required: None.
Visualise Divine Mother, and perform Morning Jap and Evening Yagna.

How to do the Jap

  • Click the ‘flower’ icon on the app.
  • Now, select the Day and tap the Morning Jap button.
  • You can either chant along, or simply read and listen to the Lalita Sahasranaam stotram mindfully.

How to do the Yagna

  • Click the 'flower' icon on the app.
  • Now, select the Day and tap the Evening Yagna button.
  • Follow the onscreen prompts and offer ingredients as and when they get highlighted.
  • Remember to maintain mindfulness and devotion to harness the power of the mantras.

Points to Remember

1.    You don't need initiation, permission, or any other intervention to do the sadhana.

2.    Anyone over the age of 8 can do this sadhana.

3.    It is advisable to wear a fresh set of clothes, preferably red.

4.    You are recommended to sit facing East or North-East during the sadhana.

5.    The ideal time to do Jap is anytime during the day. Do yagna after sunset. Maintain the same time for Jap everyday.

6.    When you perform your first yagna, take a vow or Sankalpa declaring the purpose of your sadhana. An in-app prompt will guide you.

7.    If you miss any day's Jap, the Lalita Sahasranaam Sadhana will be compromised.

8.    If you cannot perform yagna at all, you can still do your Sadhana by chanting the complete Lalita Sahasranaam twice in the evening as well.

9.    There's no restriction on women to begin or continue this sadhana during their menstrual cycle.

10.  A vegetarian diet is recommended but not mandatory.

11.  Mother Divine embodies abundance and bestows prosperity. So, in line with the Vedic tradition, it is recommended to set aside a small monetary offering or Dakshina daily. You can also choose to offer it at the beginning or end of your sadhana.

12.  Maintaining purity in thoughts, words, and actions strengthens your sadhana.

13.  For successfully completing this sadhana, please follow the in-app steps and instructions for each day.
