Questions About Sadhana

After a long japa at night, should I bathe and then perform the morning yagna, or can I perform the yagna directly without bathing?

If you have napped or slept after completing the japa, you should ideally bathe before starting the yagna. If the japa takes the entire night and you are straight onto the yagna, no bathing is required.

While doing this sadhana, do we have to keep Sri Mahalakshmi’s picture or Sri yantra ?

You may if you so wish.

If I’m unable to do the Sadhana in November, when is the next opportunity/muhurta?

If you miss any day, the Sri Suktam sadhana is compromised. You will then have to wait for one year to do this sadhana. Having said that, this sadhana can also be done in the lunar month of Magha The ideal time is starting with the night of Diwali and the second best is in the lunar month of Magha (January-February).

I am currently based in a different time zone. Can I still participate in the virtual sadhana, as there will be a difference in the timezone?

Yes, you can. The timezone issue has been addressed in the app. Each day’s yagna (performed at 5.15 AM IST) will be available on the app through the duration of the entire Sadhana (till Nov 17).

While doing Sadhana for 6-7 hours, if on any of the 16 days one has to get up to go to washroom Will the Sadhana be compromised ?

Your sadhana won’t be compromised at all. Simply do the purification ritual and resume from where you left off. If, however, you stop your chanting midway a round, you have to do that round again. For example, you vow to use beads and do nine rounds and you get at the completion of round 3, simply start from 4th round of chanting when you get back. But, if you stop in the middle of round 3, you will resume from the beginning of round 3.

Will the Sri Suktam Sadhana release me from this life? I am looking for liberation, freedom, and moksha.

Nothing is impossible with the grace of Divine Mother. Rest, you alone know the bond you share with the cosmic energy.

Can I let my family and friends know that I am doing this Sadhana? I remember reading that one should not reveal one’s Sadhana to others.

You can let them know if it helps in anyway.

I want to do the Sri Suktam Sadhana, but my children are very young. I’m afraid I will not be able to stick to the same time. I will try to do each day's mantra at least 11 times or 27 times. Hoping that once my kids are a little older I will be able to commit to detailed Sadhana.

Do it even 7 times if you can. Anything is better than nothing. Every drop matters in making an ocean.

Questions About Japa/ Chanting

What kind of rudraksha mala can we buy?

Any kind will do. If you have done any sadhana in the past, you can use the same mala (rosary), or  if you use rudraksha beads for any other japa, you can use the same chanting beads. You don’t need to buy a separate rosary.

Or You can simply use Sadhana App.

For the night japa, should we consider the first night to be 1st Nov (before the first yagna) or Nov. 2?

Can I do morning yagna and evening japa in separate rooms, or do they have to be done together in the same room at the same spot?

You can do them in separate rooms.

Can the japa mala be worn again after the japa is complete?

Yes.

Questions About Yagna

Will the first yagna be on Diwali morning or a day after?

The first yagna will be after Diwali on Nov 2 (morning) at 5.15 am IST.

Due to work-related reasons I cannot attend the yagna at 5.15 am. Should I forgo the yagna and chant the previous night’s mantra 216 times, instead? Please advise.

The app will feature live yagna, in other words, it’s absolutely live broadcast within the app. Once it’s over, the yajna recording for that day will remain available in the app during the entire duration of the Sadhana (i.e. Nov 1-Nov 17). You can do the yagna at your convenient time.
